About The Author
I have seen in the comments that some have thought I am something I am not, so here is a bit about me.
I am a former US Army Sergeant that was medically discharged in March of 2006 due to non-combat injuries I recieved while serving in Iraq from 2004-2005.
Since then I have done some volunteer work on the Messmore for Congress Campaign in Washington State in 2006 and since May of 2007 I have been working in Iraq for a company that provides vehicle maintenance for the armed services over here.
This job is great as I make a decent living (the media has exagerated the pay of contractors for one) and love the fact that I get to continue to work with the military.
I started this blog as a way to get my thoughts out there and to get the word out there about issues that the Old Media wont.
I am a father of four and have been happily married for 10 years now.

Greetings. I also spent a year in Iraq as a civilian. It was not always easy, sometimes dangerous, but also very rewarding to work among our troops. I was also in the Army Reserve during the 90s but I never got called up. That’s one of the reasons I volunteered. Take care and Godspeed.

TrueSoldier,
I am looking for civilians who work in Iraq who can describe their lifestyle and job there. I am a novelist writing about a character who was in Desert Storm then returns to Iraq after his enlisted son goes missing there in 2006. (Fiction.)
For instance, I am intersted in how free you are to move around as a civilian. If you can help me, or recomend any good books/article on the subject, I’d appreciate it.
Thanks.
